“As LGBT youth come out at younger ages, thousands face homophobia in their homes. Many are rejected by their families and driven from their homes. In New York City an LGBT teen is eight times more likely to experience homelessness than is a straight teen. LGBT youths suffering homelessness on the streets face terrible risk of HIV infection, physical and sexual assault, and suicide. In 2008, a census of homeless youth in NYC found that every night almost 4000 youth are without stable housing. However, New York City and New York State combine funds to support fewer than 200 youth shelter beds. In 2011 Governor Cuomo and the New York State Legislature cut funds for homeless youth by 50%, and Mayor Bloomberg sought to cut funds for homeless youth by 60%.On October 24th the LGBT community will come together and rally to support our most vulnerable youth and demand that every homeless youth in NYC be provided safe shelter. We will come together to affirm the basic human value of our youth and to assert that they should not be thrown out of their homes, nor should they be left on the streets without shelter. We want our elected officials to hear loud and clear that we are a community that will seek to protect our teens.”

“You’re straight, because you’re pretty.”

Probably one of the more funnier things ever said to me. This was during a “guess who’s straight” activity, where the audience had to guess the 3 straight people in a panel of 8.

Happiness…

“You’re hurting…You’re constantly struggling with something and you always let it hang there.”

Truer words never spoken.

I can say that I am happy now, but that is only in comparison to how I was before. The moment he said that to me, I understood. I was still hurting. I am still hurting. The only difference now is that I’m sure that I’ll get through it in one piece.

This is my happiness for now, and I love it.

I love the contrast between the loose fabric and the tightness of the wrapping.

Anonymous asked: "All i really want is someone i can express myself with who can do the same back"

im sure tht everybody would love to find a person like tht. I think it's def not asking for TOO much, bt once u found someone tht u liked, why did it blow up?

every time i got the courage to do something about how i felt, i was humiliated

Anonymous asked: "The world’s population consists of about 52% women...…sometimes I’m afraid that I’m part of the 2%, lonely and forever unpaired. "

That's assuming that every woman marries and is straight, which is totally not the case LOL. But wht makes u think u'll stay lonely?

I dont say i because ive never been asked out or anything, ive gotten plenty of offers but practically all of those guys could barely make out a conversation with me. It gets frustrating.

Also, whenever i liked someone, it always tended to blow up in my face, either in a humiliating way or a very painful way.

All i really want is someone i can express myself with who can do the same back… Unless thats asking for too much hard to approach, but all i really want is someone i can express myself with who can do the same back…but often or not it seems like im asking for too much.
